We will have a featured reader, Emily Hockaday, to celebrate her second collection, In a Body. Her first full-length, Naming the Ghost, debuted with Cornerstone Press in September 2022. She is the author of six poetry chapbooks, most recently Beach Vocabulary out from Red Bird Chaps & Name this Body from Thrash Press. Her poems have appeared in print and online journals, as well as with the Poets of Queens and Parks & Points’ Wayfinding anthologies. Emily writes about ecology, parenthood, chronic illness, grief, and the urban environment. She is a recipient of the New York City Artist Corps, Cafe Royal Cultural Foundation, Queens Art Fund, and DeGroot Foundation grants, and she was a 2022 poetry resident at the Bethany Arts Community.
