Conversation will be moderated by Olivia Rutigliano.

About the authors:

Megan Abbott is the Edgar award-winning author of ten crime novels, including You Will Know Me, Give Me Your Hand and the New York Times bestseller The Turnout. She also writes for television, including Dare Me, the series she adapted from her own novel, now streaming on Netflix. Her next novel, Beware the Woman, will appear in summer 2023.

Alison Gaylin is a USA Today and international bestselling author Alison Gaylin has won the Edgar and Shamus awards. She's the author of 12 novels and numerous short stories, and her work has been chosen for Best American Mysteries and Suspense. Her book The Collective has been optioned by Yellow Bird UK (the Millennium Trilogy) for development as a TV series. And in addition to her next standalone (out in 2024 from William Morrow) she’s at work on the latest installment in Robert Parker’s Sunny Randall mystery series, Bad Influence, which is scheduled for release in June of ’23 (Putnam).

Alafair Burke is a New York Times bestselling author whose most recent novels include Find Me, The Better Sister, The Wife, and The Ex, which was nominated for the Edgar Award for best novel. She has also been the co-author of the bestselling Under Suspicion series with Mary Higgins Clark. She currently serves as the President of Mystery Writers of America and is the first woman of color to be elected to that position. Alex Segura is the bestselling and award-winning author of Secret Identity, which the New York Times named an Editor’s Choice and received starred reviews from Publishers Weekly, Kirkus, and Booklist. Alex is also the author of the Pete Fernandez Miami Mystery series and his short story, “90 Miles”, was included in The Best American Mystery and Suspense Stories for 2021 and won the Anthony Award for Best Short Story.

Sarah Weinman is the author of Scoundrel and The Real Lolita and the editor of Unspeakable Acts: True Tales of Crime, Murder, Deceit & Obsession and Evidence of Things Seen: True Crime in an Era of Reckoning, forthcoming in July 2023. She was a 2020 National Magazine Award finalist for reporting and a Calderwood Journalism Fellow at MacDowell, and her work has appeared in New York magazine, the Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair, and the Washington Post. Weinman writes the crime column for the New York Times Book Review and lives in New York City and Northampton, MA.
